Default GW1 Warrior = GW2 Warrior

Hello.

My main character is a Warrior and I have an alt too, a Monk.
I have many titles on my Warrior but when GW2 comes out, I wanna make a Monk as my main character.

Now, as I said before, my Warrior has some titles and I heard you can transfer them to your GW2 characters and then you will get special items. Do I HAVE to make a Warrior in GW2 to transfer my titles or can I just make a Monk or any other class to transfer and keep those titles?

You need to cancel your account ASAP if you want to keep ANY titles. So quickly email A.Net and ask them to disable your account, then preorder your copy of GW2!

Good luck, friend!

ill slap the same crap here as i always do

Your deeds from the original Guild Wars campaigns will be commemorated in the Eye of the North expansion in your Hall of Monuments. The Hall of Monuments will reflect the achievements you earn in Eye of the North as well as those earned in Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall. You will even be able to show off your hall to friends. Then, when Guild Wars 2 arrives, each of these monuments will correspond to special features your Guild Wars 2 characters can "inherit" from your own legendary past, giving you access to exclusive titles, companions , weapons, attire, and miniatures. These inherited items are unique: there is no other way within Guild Wars 2 to acquire them.

This feature will not allow characters to be transferred between Guild Wars 1 and Guild Wars 2. However, it will allow character names to be reserved and a character linked to a Guild Wars character will inherit some of the original character's accomplishments.

It will not support transfer of armor, characters, or gold. However, acquiring some armors in GW1 may confer benefits in GW2 via the Hall of Monuments

------------------
Basically thats all the info on the hall

reading that loosely id say, you have to make a char wih the same NAME to get the rewards....which brings up the question of re-rolling....

still gotta say hero transfer was unexpected

As I understand it, after linking your GW1 account to your GW2 account, you will be able to choose which GW2 character will inherit accomplishments from the GW1 character of your choice. Reserving your GW1 names is only an option for those who care to do this.

It's still too soon for an adequate answer. We can only assume what can be done in practice.

Although it IS fair to assume that Anet would allow us the freedom to choose whichever new character we want to delegate the inheritance. If not, it would be too strict and not that user-friendly...

Lets expand on this a little:

For example:

I have 4 chars (and for argument sake) lets say;

Char 1 = 5 titles 1 max
Char 2 = 3 titles 2 max
Char 3 = 6 titles 2 max
Char 4 = 9 titles 4 max

now the max titles are all differant on the chars none are the same lvl on any of the char

Question 1:
Now if I transfer my titles from all 4 chars will I get the rewards for my GW2 from all those chars?

Question 2:
Lets say the titles that arent max are higher on char 2 then on char 4 and I transfer all 4 chars will the highest titlest be awarded because if they are then whats the point of getting titles on more than 1 char?

Again these are questions that bother me should I work on only 1 char today for the transfer or will I be awarded for all my chars that I transfer? What if I duplicated titles do I get double rewards?

Thanks just some random thoughts
